Muktinath 3802m. is the sacred pilgrimage sites where both Hindus and Buddhists worship. Muktinath has been a pilgrimage site since 330 BC. It has a natural spring and a flame of natural gas that seems to burn on water. The primordial guardian of the region was the sacred mountain Dhaulagiri and its snowy white bulk dominates much of the trek. The Gandaki Gorge is considered the deepest in the world.
Jomsom (2713 m) is the main headquarters of Mustang district. This short trek immediately north of Pokhara is an ideal trek with a diversity of culture and beautiful panoramic views of the Himalayas. Passing through picturesque villages, monasteries, Chorten, prayer flags and Mani walls, one gets to encounter Sherpa culture at its primitive best.
