Itinerary of Tengboche Monestry trekking:
The Mount Everest or the Nepali name is Sagarmatha (Brow of the Ocean) & even more popular
Sherpa is Chomolungma (Mother Goddess of the world) Khumbu, region provides you with sufficient
chance of exploring High Mountain scenery. It is east from Kathmandu & you can plan to start your
trip from Jiri or take a flight to Lukla & start you walk. You will be following in the footsteps of the
legendry Sherpa Tenzing, Sir Edmund Hillary, passing through one of the most beautiful mountain
panoramic views, and many Sherpa villages likes Namche bazaar you will explore the rich Sherpa
culture as well as spectacular landscapes and monasteries. It will give you the chance of climbing up
to Kala Patthar (5545 m), from where you can clearly see the magnificent view of Everest, The South
Col, Khumbu icefall and other spectacular peaks of the region. This region is the gateway of the
many high mountains & trekking peaks of the world. If you are interested to walk more, you could
make a trip to Tashilaptcha pass in Rolwaling Himal or ahead to eastern part of Nepal,
Kanchanjunga/Makalu and Arun Valley.
Itineary:
Day 01: Arrival, hotel transfer & welcome dinner O/N hotel (D) (1350m./ 4414 ft.)
Meet in the airport, receive and welcome with flower garlands and transfer to hotel. Their after generally we
discuss about the things need to do and late afternoon we settle the remaining of the preparation of the
trekking. Then if there is little time left we may go for a short walk around, if not we go for dinner.
Day 02: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2840m. /9287 ft.) and trek to Phakding 2610m./ 8535 ft.) 4 hrs O/N

A spectacular flight and a jagged landing on a steep mountain runway brings us to the start of our trek at the
village of Lukla [2840m]. After meeting the porters, we head up the DudhKoshiValley.Most of the flights to
mountain region are in the morning due to the strong wind flow in the afternoon, so same to Lukla and we
pass through a popular small village of Phakding and head to Toktok.
Day 03: Phakding trek to Namche Bazaar 3440m./ 11249 ft.) (6 hrs) O/N lodge (B L D) Easy
We continue north following the DudhKosi river and on to Jorsale where we enter the Sagarmatha (Everest)
National Park. It is just a comfortable walk to get ready to climb to Namche bazaar which starts from the
Hillary bridge. From here it is a short walk to the confluence of two rivers, the lmjaDrangpa (ImjaKhola) and the
NangpoTsangpo (BhoteKosi) and cross the Hillary bridge, followed by a steep climb (for about 2hrs.) to
Namche Bazaar, the main town in the Khumbu region. Have to cross about 6 bridges. Namche is a prosperous
Sherpa town and an important trading centre with a weekly Saturday market.
Day 04: Acclimatization explore around Khumjung (3780m./ 12361 ft.) or Way to Thamo 3493m./11447 ft. /
Thame 3800m./ 12453 O/N lodge (B L D). Easy plus
Namche Bazaar explore around and overnight Namche Bazaar is tucked away between two ridges amongst the
giant peaks of the Khumbu. Namche now boasts an abundance of lodges and souvenir shops. It is an ideal
place to spend a rest day exploring to Thamo 3493m./11447 ft. / Thame 3800m./ 12453 or around Khumjung
(3780m./ 12361 ft.) It is a nice and old village in the region and comparatively it is a big village. More than this
we visit to Khunde Hospital and also the one hour walk up to the Everest View Hotel above Namche for the
sunset view of AmaDablam, Nuptse, Lhotse and Everest.
Day 05: Namche Bazaar trek to Tengboche, 3860m. / 12622 ft.) (6 hrs) and O/N lodge (B L D) Easy plus
From Namche, the trail contours around the side of the valley, high above the DudhKosi. Now we get our first
really good views of the great peaks of the Khumbu including Mt Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and AmaDablam.
Passing by several villages and numerous tea shops, we descend steeply to a bridge over the river at
PhunkiTenga. The village is an excellent lunch spot, and here we can rest before making the steep climb to
Tengboche. Although tiring, the hike up the zigzag path has numerous distractions, with rhododendron
bushes, beautiful birds and superb mountain scenery. Tengboche is famous for its legendary monastery, the
largest in the Khumbu. We stay near the monastery with Everest, Lhotse and AmaDablam framed in the
doorway of our guest house. Last part of walk is bit difficult.
especially interesting for the views of the 15-meters high series of ice, a feature peculiar to Himalayan glaciers.
The base camp of the highest mountain in the world is mostly inhabited by several expeditions all over the
world. Back to Gorekshep. Bit long and Adventurous day.Afternoon is free rest or explore around.
Day 06: Tengboche to Manjo trek to 2835m./ 9270 ft.) (7 hrs) O/N lodge (B L D) Easy /Long 08.10.2019
We continue to follow the river and, walk through a very sloppy trail and the stream seem so deep down. We
come back to Namche by following the same way via Pangboche and Tengboche.
Day 07: Manjo to Lukla 2840m, (5hrs) O/N lodge (B L D) Easy
From Namche all the way down and cross the Hillary bridge and the trail descends steeply by crossing many
small villages like Chamuwa, ThuloGumela, Bangkar by following the same river of DudhKoshi. Their after we
reach and Pass the village of Phakding (2610m) where we spent an overnight on day 02. As we are already
the last part of our trekking and it is already lowland as well so everyone feel easy and dreaming a better food
and accommodation of Kathmandu. By passing the village Ghat, Choplung, Chaunrikharka and we reach to
Lukla an end of happy trekking.
Day 08: Lukla fly to Kathmandu, End of the trek (B L )
Early morning flight to Kathmandu. Even some time due to the weather condition we have to wait sometime in
the airport. Afternoon free to tour around Kathmandu
Day 09: An Official end of the trip and departure to airport (B)
