Lobuche East Peak Climbing
15 DaysThis is called Sharpa god ,having rocky east face. The peak consists of several small summits and the true summit requires climbing steep snow and ice slopes to the top from the summit ridge. Very few climbers who attempt this peak reach the real summit, but many attain the worth-while false summit. The base camp will be set up at 4,950m. near a lake in a rocky hollow at the base of the glaciated South-West Face. The views of Mt. Cholotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Pumori, Mt.Everest and Tawache are seen superb from the summit of Labuche. Good conditions and a dawn or pre-dawn start is recommended. The average angle for the entire climb is not steep, but there are areas of messy cerac that require two axes, front pointing and belaying. The ridge route is sometimes easier. Many climbers who take this approach stop at the top of the ridge, thinking this is the false summit of Lobuche East. But, in fact a continuation on the knife-edged ridge is needed (rope) to reach the false-summit.
