Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu airport, welcome & transfer to the Hotel, O/N Hotel (D)
Upon your arrival, a representative from Manaslu Adventure Treks will warmly welcome you at the airport with a flower garland and ensure a smooth transfer to your designated hotel in the city. Once you check in and settle, the representative will provide a detailed program briefing, including an overview of your upcoming journey.
Day 02: Preparation for Peak Climbing, O/N Hotel (B)
On the second day, the team focuses on final preparations to ensure a safe and successful climb. This includes a thorough check of climbing gear such as harness, crampons, ice axes, ropes, helmets, and mountaineering boots. You receive a detailed briefing from the leader about the route, weather conditions, altitude challenges, and safety protocols. The afternoon is free and easy for personal activities.
Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2840m), Trek to Phakding (2610m), 4 hrs O/N Lodge (B L D)
Today, you will take a thrilling early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2840m), one of the most scenic air routes in the world, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayas. Upon landing at the gateway to the Everest region, you will meet the trekking crew and begin your journey on foot. The trail descends gently through the picturesque Sherpa villages, lush forests, and along the Dudh Koshi River. Passing by prayer wheels, mani stones, and suspension bridges, you will enjoy a pleasant introduction to the Khumbu Valley. After about 4 hours of trekking, you will arrive at Phakding (2610m), a charming riverside settlement where you stay overnight.
Day 04: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m), 6 hrs O/N Lodge (B L D)
After breakfast, you leave Phakding and follow the trail along the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges adorned with colorful flags, including the famous Hillary Bridge. The route passes through small Sherpa villages such as Monjo and Jorsalle, where you will enter the Sagarmatha National Park. From there, the trail becomes steeper, with a long uphill climb through pine forests and scenic ridges, offering the first glimpses of Everest, Lhotse, and Kusum Kanguru on a clear day. After about 6 hours of the journey, you will reach Namche Bazaar (3440m), the bustling heart of the Khumbu region, known for its lively markets, cafes, and spectacular mountain views. You stay overnight at Namche Bazaar.
Day 05: Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar O/N Lodge (B L D)
This day is reserved for acclimatization in Namche Bazaar to help your body adjust to the increasing altitude. Instead of resting completely, you will take a short hike to higher elevations and return for the night, following the “climb high, sleep low” principle. Today you will hike to the Everest View Hotel (3880m), which offers magnificent views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and other surrounding peaks. On the way, you can also explore the Sherpa villages of Khumjung and Khunde, where you can visit local monasteries and experience traditional culture. Back in Namche, you can stroll around the vibrant market, visit the Sherpa Museum, or simply relax while enjoying the panoramic mountain scenery. This acclimatization day ensures that you are well-prepared for the higher altitudes ahead.
Day 06: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3860m) O/N Lodge (B L D)
After breakfast, you leave Namche Bazaar and follow a scenic trail that contours along the hillside with breathtaking views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and the elegant peak of Ama Dablam. The path descends gradually to the Dudh Koshi River, crossing it at Phunki Tenga, a small settlement where trekkers often stop for tea or lunch. From here, the trail climbs steadily through rhododendron and pine forests, which are especially vibrant during spring. After a few hours of trekking, you reach Tengboche (3860m), home to the famous Tengboche Monastery, the largest in the Khumbu region. You can enjoy stunning panoramic views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and other surrounding Himalayan giants from here. You stay overnight at Tengboche.
Day 07: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4410m), 6 hrs O/N Lodge (B L D)
Today, you descend from Tengboche through forests of rhododendron, fir, and birch, passing by the small village of Debuche before crossing the Imja Khola on a suspension bridge. The path gradually ascends from here, offering spectacular views of Ama Dablam towering above the valley. You will pass through the charming Sherpa village of Pangboche, where the oldest monastery in the Khumbu region lies, and continue along the trail surrounded by terraced fields and stone walls. As you climb higher into the Imja valley, the landscape becomes more alpine, with fewer trees and more open pasturelands. The final stretch brings you to Dingboche (4410m), a beautiful village nestled beneath Ama Dablam and surrounded by barley fields enclosed by stone fences. You stay overnight at Dingboche.
Day 08: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4910m), 5 hrs O/N Lodge (B L D)
Today, you leave Dingboche and follow a gradual trail through open alpine valleys, where the tree line has already faded and the landscape is dominated by rugged terrain and snowy peaks. The path gently ascends toward Thukla (4620m), where trekkers usually stop for a short rest. From Thukla, a steep climb leads up to the Thukla Pass, an area filled with memorial chortens and stone stacks built in honor of climbers who lost their lives on Everest and other Himalayan expeditions. This emotional spot also offers sweeping views of peaks like Pumori, Lingtren, Khumbtse, and Mahalangur Himal. After crossing the pass, the trail continues along a glacial moraine with striking views of Nuptse and the Khumbu Glacier. A short walk further brings you to Lobuche (4910m), a small settlement surrounded by towering peaks. You stay overnight at Lobuche.
Day 09: Trek from Lobuche to Lobuche Base Camp (4950m), 2 hrs O/N Tent (B L D)
Today, the trail takes you from Lobuche village to Lobuche Base Camp. The day begins with a gradual ascent along the rocky moraine, surrounded by breathtaking views of towering peaks like Pumori, Nuptse, and Khumbu glacier. The trail is rugged but well-marked, offering a mix of rocky paths and small glacial streams. As you approach the base camp, the landscape becomes more dramatic with scattered boulders and patches of ice. The air is thin, so the pace is steady and careful, allowing time to acclimatize. Upon arrival at Lobuche Base Camp (4950m), climbers set up tents and prepare for the technical climb ahead, while soaking in the awe-inspiring panorama of the surrounding Himalayan giants. The evening is spent resting, hydrating, and reviewing the climbing plan for the summit. You stay overnight at Lobuche Base Camp.
Day 10: Climb from Lobuche Base Camp to Lobuche High Camp (5400m), 3 hrs O/N Tent (B L D)
Today, the climbers make their way from Lobuche Base Camp to Lobuche High Camp. The trek begins early in the morning, navigating a combination of rocky trails, ice slopes, and scattered crevasses, requiring careful footwork and trekking poles for stability. The route offers breathtaking views of Island Peak, Nuptse, and the Khumbu glacier, with the surrounding peaks casting dramatic shadows across the terrain. As the day progresses, the ascent becomes steeper, and the thin Himalayan air demands a slow, steady pace to allow the body to acclimatize. By afternoon, climbers reach Lobuche High Camp (5400m), where tents are pitched on a safe, level area amidst the rugged alpine environment. The evening is spent resting, hydrating, and preparing gear for the challenging summit push the following day. You stay overnight at Lobuche High Camp.
Day 11: Summit Lobuche East Peak (6119m), return to Base Camp, 9-10 hrs O/N Tent (B L D)
Today, the climbers attempt the summit of Lobuche East Peak. The day begins in the very early hours, often before sunrise, to take advantage of firmer snow and ice conditions. The climb from High Camp to the summit (6119m) involves navigating steep snow slopes, rock steps, and occasional small crevasses, requiring crampons, ice axes, and fixed ropes in some sections. As climbers ascend, the panoramic views of Ama Dablam, Island peak, Nuptse, and he surrounding Khumbu giants unfold, offering a truly awe-inspiring experience. After reaching the summit, there is a brief moment to celebrate and capture the breathtaking vistas before carefully descending along the same route. By late afternoon, climbers return to Lobuche Base Camp, exhausted but exhilarated, where they rest, rehydrate, and share stories of the triumph, preparing for the trek down. You stay overnight at Lobuche Base Camp.
Day 12: Contingency/Reserve Day
This day is kept as a reserve day at High Camp to allow for flexibility in case the summit attempt of Lobuche East Peak is delayed due to weather, acclimatization, or other unforeseen circumstances. This day is crucial for safety, giving climbers extra time to rest, recover, and prepare mentally and physically for the challenging summit push. Proper hydration, nutrition, and rest are emphasized to ensure climbers are fully ready for a safe and successful ascent on the next available window.
Day 13: Trek from Base Camp to Pangboche (3985m), 6 hrs O/N Lodge (B L D)
Today, the descent begins from Lobuche Base Camp to Pangboche. The trek starts with a gradual downhill along the rocky moraine and glacial paths, offering spectacular views of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and the surrounding peaks one last time before leaving the high alpine zone. The trail passes through scattered boulder fields, small streams, and occasional yak herder camps, making for a scenic yet steady descent. As climbers lose altitude, the air becomes warmer and easier to breathe, and the vegetation slowly reappears, signaling a return to the more inhabited regions of the Khumbu valley. By afternoon, you reach Pangboche village (3985m), known for its historic monastery and friendly Sherpa community. The evening is spent resting, enjoying local hospitality, and reflecting on the achievement of the summit climb. You stay overnight at Pangboche.
Day 14: Trek from Pangboche to Lukla via Namche Bazaar, 7 hrs O/N Lodge (B L D)
Today, the trek continues from Pangboche to Namche Bazaar, retracing part of the classic Everest Base Camp route. The trail initially descends gently through the rhododendron and pine forests, crossing small streams and suspension bridges that span the icy Khumbu River. As the day progresses, the path alternates between gradual inclines and descents, offering panoramic views of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and the surrounding Himalayan peaks. Local villages and teahouses, along with fluttering prayer flags around the trail, and sounds of monks’ chants from distant monasteries, provide glimpses of Sherpa culture. By late afternoon, climbers arrive at Namche Bazaar (3440m), the bustling hub of the Khumbu region, where the streets are lined with shops, cafes, and lodges. The evening is spent resting, exploring the town, and savoring the sense of accomplishment. You stay overnight at Namche Bazaar.
Day 15: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu, afternoon free and easy O/N Hotel (B D)
Today, the journey concludes with a morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu, offering one last breathtaking aerial view of the Khumbu Valley, towering Himalayan Peaks, and glacial landscapes below. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you are transferred to the hotel. The rest of the day is free and easy for individual activities. This is the perfect time to relax, enjoy the comforts of the city, explore local markets, or savor Nepali cuisine at a nearby restaurant. The evening can be spent packing, resting, or casually strolling through Thamel, soaking in the culture of the vibrant capital city. The day concludes with a farewell dinner at a local Nepali restaurant and travel arrangements to your destination.
Day 16: An Official end of the trip & departure to the airport (B)
On the final day, Manaslu Adventure Treks will organize a special Trip Conclude Ceremony. During this heartfelt event, the team will express gratitude for your participation and acknowledge the memorable experiences shared throughout the adventure. The clients are also free to provide feedback, which is valuable for the team to understand their experience and gather insights to improve future trips. As a token of appreciation, a souvenir will be presented to you, symbolizing the lasting memories of your adventure and deep connection to Nepal’s culture and natural beauty.
The day concludes with a final goodbye and transfer arrangements to your onward destination, whether to the airport or your next journey within Nepal. The team will ensure your departure is smooth and filled with warm wishes for future travels.
For trip confirmation, please make a down payment minimum of USD 200.00 or 20% of the total cost. In some cases, the trip cost could be high depending upon the domestic flight or trekking & expedition. In such cases, we will inform you accordingly. Please note that the deposit amount is non-refundable in the case of cancellation. However, the trip could be rescheduled again. The remaining dues must be paid 15 days before departure by bank transfer or on arrival in Kathmandu.
No refund will be made for the initial booking confirmation amount provided under any circumstances of cancellation. However, we offer to reschedule your trip for any other date of next season or within a year. Manaslu Adventure Treks will refund you if you have paid a further amount of the trip cost. If the cancellation is made before 30 days of the trip start date, then, a full refund will be made except the booking confirmation amount. Likewise, a 50% refund will be made on cancellation before 15 days of the trip start date and a 25% refund on the cancellation before 10 days. Furthermore, cancellations made within a week will be considered as no show & no refund will be made.
