Still, it offers trekkers a chance to immerse themselves in nature’s tranquility, making it an excellent choice for those looking for an “off the beaten track” adventure.
The journey includes crossing the Magdi Glacier and reaching Dhaulagiri Base Camp (4,750 m) before approaching the French Pass (5,360 m) nestled between the Mukut Himal and Tukuche Peak. As you traverse this majestic landscape, you’ll be surrounded by the colossal peaks of the Dhaulagiri range. From French Pass, the trek’s highest point, you will descend into the Hidden Valley and continue along the trail leading to Dhampus Pass, positioned between Tukuche Peak and Thapa Peak. This route leads you to Jomsom and Muktinath, a significant pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists. Your adventure concludes with a return to Jomsom, where you will fly to Pokhara and then back to Kathmandu.

Upon your arrival, a representative from Manaslu Adventure Treks will warmly welcome you at the airport with a flower garland and ensure a smooth transfer to your designated hotel in the city. If time permits, you can explore the local area on a short walk. This will allow you to acclimatize to the environment and enjoy the surroundings. The day concludes with a special welcome dinner hosted at a local restaurant, where you can enjoy authentic Nepalese cuisine and get acquainted with fellow travelers and the Manaslu Adventure Treks team.
Today, after breakfast, the representative from Manaslu Adventure Treks will provide a detailed pre-trek briefing, including an overview of your upcoming trip. Also, any necessary documentation will be reviewed and finalized to ensure everything is in order. You can check that all gear like trekking boots, jackets, backpacks, and sleeping bags are ready, and head to the trekking equipment shop if not done so. Afterward, you will have a guided sightseeing tour around Kathmandu Valley.
Today, you depart in the morning from Kathmandu in a tourist bus and travel through scenic landscapes, passing terraced fields, charming villages, and stunning views of the Trishuli and Kali Gandaki Rivers. Finally, you arrive at Beni (899m), a gateway to the Dhaulagiri trekking region. You enjoy the peaceful environment of Beni and stay overnight.
You begin the trek from Beni, crossing suspension bridges and following the Myagdi Khola River. You pass through lush forests, terraced farmlands, and traditional villages, experiencing the lifestyle of that area. The trail is a gradual ascent with occasional flat route. Then you arrive at Simalchaur (1200m), a quiet village surrounded by natural beauty, where you stay overnight.
Today, you continue trekking along the Myagdi River, enjoying serene views of lush greenery and cascading waterfalls. You pass through small settlements and interact with locals, experiencing their warm hospitality. The trail gradually ascends with some steep sections. Finally, you reach Darbang (1180m), a bustling village and a common stop for the trekkers heading toward the Dhaulagiri region. You stay overnight in Darbang.
You depart from Darbang, following a steep ascent through terraced fields and dense forests. You cross traditional Magar villages, where you experience local culture and hospitality. You can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding hills and distant mountain peaks throughout the trail. Then you arrive at Takum (1665m), a picturesque village surrounded by natural beauty, where you stay overnight.
You start trekking with an ascent along the scenic trails through terraced fields and lush forests. Then you cross small settlements and interact with friendly locals. The trail consists of some steep sections and descents, offering breathtaking views of the Dhaulagiri and other surrounding peaks. Finally, you reach Muri (1850m), a charming Magar village, a key stop for trekkers on the Dhaulagiri circuit. You stay overnight in Muri.
Today, you begin descending from Muri, followed by a steady climb through terraced fields and lush forests. The trail becomes narrower and steeper, offering more rugged and remote landscapes. You pass through sparsely populated villages and enjoy views of the Myagdi Khola Valley. You cross suspension bridges and navigate rocky paths as you approach Bagar (2080m). Finally, you arrive at Bagar, a remote settlement, and a key stop before entering the more challenging parts of the Dhaulagiri trek. You stay overnight in Bagar.
You depart from Bagar and ascend through a rugged trail, gradually moving into more remote and challenging terrain. You pass through dense forests, crossing small streams and occasional rocky sections. The trail becomes steeper as you approach Dovan (2520m), a small clearing in the forest surrounded by towering cliffs and dense vegetation. You can enjoy the serene atmosphere, with the sound of cascading streams and the fresh mountain air, and stay overnight in Dovan.
Today is the rest and acclimatization day at Dovan, a crucial step for adjusting to the increasing altitude. You can start the day in Dovan with short walks to help your body acclimatize while avoiding strenuous activity. You can also explore the surrounding forested trails, enjoy the serenity of the valley, and take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. You can relax and prepare for the next leg of the trek, as you continue your journey towards higher altitudes. Optionally, you can hike to a nearby viewpoint to enjoy a better view of the surrounding mountain ranges.
After a restful day in Dovan, you continue your ascent towards the Italian base Camp in Upper Vungini (3660m). The trail takes you through more alpine terrain, with rocky paths and beautiful high-altitude meadows. As you gain altitude, the vegetation becomes sparser, and the surrounding environment becomes rugged with pristine mountain ranges. Finally, you reach Upper Vungini and are greeted with stunning views of Dhaulagiri and surrounding mountain ranges. You stay overnight in Upper Vungini.
Today, you depart Upper Vungini and start ascending through rugged alpine terrain. The trail gradually climbs, taking you above the tree line, and surrounded by breathtaking views of glaciers, rocky landscapes, and snow-covered peaks. You transverse moraine fields and glaciers, where the terrain becomes more challenging. Then you reach Glacier Camp (4500m), located near the Dhaulagiri Glacier, offering spectacular views of the surrounding icefalls, and the towering Dhaulagiri massif. You stay overnight in Glacier Camp.
You start with a challenging ascent from Glacier Camp, moving through moraine fields and rocky paths, as you make your way closer to the heart of Dhaulagiri. As you approach Dhaulagiri Base Camp (4740m), the terrain becomes more rugged, with stunning views of glaciers, icefalls, and surrounding peaks. You enjoy the grandeur of Dhaulagiri, one of the highest peaks in the world, as you reach Base Camp, surrounded by towering mountains and glaciers. You stay overnight in Dhaulagiri Base Camp.
Today, you start early with an ascent from Dhaulagiri Base Camp, heading towards the French Col (5360m). The trail is steep and challenging, taking you over snow and ice. As you reach the French Col, you will be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of Dhaulagiri, Tukuche Peak, and the Annapurna Range. Then you descend from the French Col, heading into the Hidden Valley (5100m), a serene and remote area surrounded by high peaks. This section involves getting off the glacier, and transitioning to less rugged terrain as you enter the Hidden Valley, where you stay overnight.
You descend from Hidden Valley towards Yak Kharka (4500m). The trail descends through rocky terrain, crossing alpine meadows and offering beautiful views of surrounding peaks. As you descend, you will pass by yak herders’ camps, and the landscape transitions from alpine to a grassier, lower altitude. You enjoy stunning views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges in the distance. Finally, you reach Yak Kharka, a high-altitude grazing area, where you stay overnight.
Today, you start early from Yak Kharka and begin the challenging climb toward Dhampus Pass (5200m). The climb is steep and demanding, taking you through rocky terrain and offering magnificent views of the surrounding mountain ranges. Once you reach Dhampus Pass, take a moment to enjoy panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri peaks. From the pass, you continue toward Thapa Peak for a further ascent, which offers a unique perspective of the
surrounding high-altitude terrain. After exploring Thapa Peak, you descend towards Yak Kharka, retracing your steps along the rugged paths and rocky landscape, where you stay overnight.
Today, you begin descending from Yak Kharka towards Alubari, passing through alpine meadows and forested trails. As you descend, you will notice a change in vegetation and landscapes, transitioning from a high-altitude environment to a more temperate climate. The trail is a mix of rocky paths, grassy slopes, and occasional forest sections, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Finally, you reach Alubari (2500m), a scenic location with a peaceful environment, where you stay overnight.
You begin your final descent from Alubari to Jomsom, passing through picturesque villages, terraced fields, and scenic valleys. The trail gradually leads you to lower altitudes, with the terrain becoming gentler as you approach the Kali Gandaki River Valley. You enjoy the stunning views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges as you head towards Jomsom (2700m). Once you arrive in Jomsom, you can take your time to explore the area and celebrate the successful completion of your trek. It offers a mix of cultural experiences, local markets, and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. You stay overnight in Jomsom.
Today, you take a scenic drive from Jomsom to Pokhara (827m), a beautiful lakeside city surrounded by mountains. The journey takes you through the Kali Gandaki River valley, passing through small villages, terraced fields, and breathtaking landscapes. Upon arrival in Pokhara, you check into your hotel and relax. In the afternoon, you can explore Pokhara by visiting Phewa Lake, enjoying the views of the Annapurna range, or relaxing at a café. This is a perfect opportunity to unwind and reflect on the incredible trek you have completed. You stay overnight in Pokhara.
You take an early morning flight from Pokhara, offering stunning aerial views of the Himalayas as you return to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you are transferred to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for leisure activities, such as shopping, sightseeing, or relaxing after the trek. The day concludes with a farewell dinner at a local Nepali restaurant and travel arrangements to your destination.
On the final day of your journey, a special Trip Conclude Ceremony will be organized by Manaslu Adventure treks. During this heartfelt event, the team will express gratitude for your participation and acknowledge the memorable experiences shared throughout the adventure. Also, the clients are free to provide feedback, which is valuable for the team to understand your experience and gather insights to improve future trips. As a token of appreciation, a souvenir will be presented to you, symbolizing the lasting memories of your adventure and deep connection to Nepal’s culture and natural beauty.
The day concludes with a final goodbye and transfer arrangements to your onward destination, whether to the airport or your next journey within Nepal. The team will ensure your departure is smooth and filled with warm wishes for future travels.
For trip confirmation, please make a down payment minimum of USD 200.00 or 20% of the total cost. In some cases, the trip cost could be high depending upon the domestic flight or trekking & expedition. In such cases, we will inform you accordingly. Please note that the deposit amount is non-refundable in the case of cancellation. However, the trip could be rescheduled again. The remaining dues must be paid 15 days before departure by bank transfer or on arrival in Kathmandu.
No refund will be made for the initial booking confirmation amount provided under any circumstances of cancellation. However, we offer to reschedule your trip for any other date of next season or within a year. Manaslu Adventure Treks will refund you if you have paid a further amount of the trip cost. If the cancellation is made before 30 days of the trip start date, then, a full refund will be made except the booking confirmation amount. Likewise, a 50% refund will be made on cancellation before 15 days of the trip start date and a 25% refund on the cancellation before 10 days. Furthermore, cancellations made within a week will be considered as no show & no refund will be made.
