The trek begins with an exhilarating flight to Lukla, followed by a journey through picturesque Sherpa villages like Namche Bazaar and Tengboche, where trekkers can explore monasteries and immerse themselves in the vibrant Sherpa culture. The trail leads to the turquoise Gokyo Lakes, the largest glacial lake system in the Himalayas, and ascends Gokyo Ri (5357m) for panoramic views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. Crossing the challenging Cho La Pass (5420m), trekkers reach the Khumbu Glacier and Kala Patthar (5545m), the ultimate viewpoint for awe-inspiring close-up views of Everest. The journey also encounters unique flora and fauna, stunning landscapes of alpine meadows and rugged terrains, and unforgettable hospitality from the local communities, making it an once-in-a-lifetime Himalayan adventure.

I like the movies “Vertical Limit” and also “127 Hours”. The experiences as a survivor and challenges make me as a real survivor even in cold weather (in Kalapatthar) may be around -5°C/-8°C. It’s make me think….that’s a survivor.
Gokyo panoramic also leave a real huge in my heart. Wow!! It’s a spectacular of the world. Will miss u again M. Gokyo….see u soon.

Upon your arrival, a representative from Manaslu Adventure Treks will warmly welcome you at the airport with a flower garland and ensure a smooth transfer to your designated hotel in the city. If time permits, you can explore the local area on a short walk. This will allow you to acclimatize to the environment and enjoy the surroundings. The day concludes with a special welcome dinner hosted at a local restaurant, where you can enjoy authentic Nepalese cuisine and get acquainted with fellow travelers and the Manaslu Adventure Treks team.
Today, after breakfast, the representative from Manaslu Adventure Treks will provide a detailed pre-trek briefing, including an overview of your upcoming trip. Also, any necessary documentation will be reviewed and finalized to ensure everything is in order. You can check that all gear like trekking boots, jackets, backpacks, and sleeping bags are ready, and head to the trekking equipment shop if not done so. Afterward, you will have a guided sightseeing tour around Kathmandu Valley.
The day begins with an early morning scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2840m), offering aerial views of the Himalayas. From Lukla, you officially start the trek with a gradual descent through lush green valleys, crossing suspension bridges adorned with colorful prayer flags. The trail passes through charming Sherpa villages like Chheplung and Thado Koshi, where you can get glimpses of local life and culture. Finally, you arrive in Phakding (2610m), a small village nestled along the Dudh Koshi River with serene surroundings. You stay overnight in Phakding.
Today, you trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m), a challenging yet rewarding journey. The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several thrilling suspension bridges, including the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge, adorned with prayer flags. You pass through several small villages like Monjo and Jorsalle, entering the Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As the trail ascends through the pine forests, the first glimpses of Mt. Everest and other
peaks come to view, fuelling excitement. The final section is a steep climb to Namche bazaar, the bustling Sherpa hub and gateway to the Everest region. Namche offers breathtaking mountain views, vibrant markets, cozy lodges, and opportunities to explore Sherpa culture, making it the perfect place to rest and acclimatize.
Today is the acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar which is essential to adjust to the higher altitude and prepare for further elevations. You can start your day with a short hike around Namche bazaar, allowing time to explore the vibrant Sherpa town. You can visit the Everest View Hotel (3880m), a Japanese scheme to build a deluxe hotel, offering breathtaking panoramic views of surrounding peaks including Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Then you can descend to Syangboche Airstrip, the highest in Nepal, another popular spot for majestic views. You can also visit the Sherpa Culture Museum and the Sagarmatha National Park Visitor Center to get insights into the region’s history, culture, and mountaineering legends. You can also take a side trip to Khumjung Valley, surrounded by snowy peaks such as Kongde and Thamserku, and visit Hillary School. In the evening you can hike back to Namche bazaar, enjoy local cuisine, and soak in the lively atmosphere of the place.
The trek from Namche Bazaar to Dole (4110m) offers breathtaking scenery as the trail ascends further into the mountains. The journey begins with a steady climb out of Namche, passing through pine and rhododendron forests with views of peaks like Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Khumbila. You can observe pheasants, mountain goats, and exclusive musk deer along the way. The trail diverges from the traditional Everest Base Camp route at Sanasa, heading toward the Gokyo Valley. After ascending a steep trail to Mong La (3790m), you are rewarded with the panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Then you descend to Phortse Tenga by crossing a river and finally, you begin a steep uphill climb through forested paths to Dole. It is a small, peaceful village offering stunning views of the surrounding snow-capped peaks. You stay overnight in Dole.
Today, you begin your trek with a gradual ascent through a high-altitude alpine landscape, where the vegetation becomes sparse, offering uninterrupted views of towering peaks like Cho Oyu, Thamserku, and Kantega. Along the way, you pass through small settlements like Luza, with its charming stone houses and yak pastures. As the trail climbs gently alongside the Dudh Koshi River, the serene beauty of the valley unfolds. Finally, you head toward Machhermo (4470m) passing through small hamlets and sandy spurs. Upon reaching Machhermo, you can visit the local Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA) center for an informative session on altitude sickness and safety procedures in the mountains. Machhermo is also known for its folklore of a yeti sighting, adding a touch of mystery to the adventure. You stay overnight in Machhermo.
The trek from Machhermo to Gokyo is one of the most rewarding days of the trek through stunning alpine landscapes. The trail ascends gradually along the Dudh Koshi River, offering breathtaking views of Cho Oyu, Kantega, and Thamserku peaks. The trail widens as it passes through Chorten and reaches Phangka, a place where 40 people were killed in Avalanche. Then you descend to the river bank followed by an uphill climb to the terminal moraine of the Ngozamba Glacier. As you approach Gokyo, you pass through two Gokyo lakes (known as Longpongo and Taboche Tsho
respectively), whose turquoise water shimmers against the backdrop of snow-capped mountains. The final stretch leads to the third lake, Dudh Pokhari, on the shores of which lies the peaceful village of Gokyo (4790m). Gokyo village is the highlight of the trek, with a backdrop of majestic Cho Oyu Mountain, offering unparalleled tranquility. You stay overnight in Gokyo village, soaking in spectacular views.
Today, you dedicate a full day to exploring Gokyo Valley and its surroundings, with the highlight being the climb to Gokyo Ri (5357m). You start early and ascend the strenuous steep trail to Gokyo Ri, where you are rewarded with the panoramic views of Mt. Everest region, including Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and the breathtaking Ngozumpa Glacier, the longest glacier in the Himalayas. After descending, you can explore the pristine Gokyo Lakes, each with its unique beauty, or take a short hike to the edges of the Ngozumpa Glacier for a closer look at its dramatic ice formations. You can also explore the fourth and fifth lakes, offering additional vistas of the rugged Himalayan landscape. The northern part of the fifth lake offers a stunning view of Cho Oyu Base Camp. You soak in the atmosphere and finally descend back to Gokyo Valley. In the evening, you can enjoy the serene atmosphere of Gokyo village amidst the towering peaks.
The trek from Gokyo to Machhermo retraces the path through the Gokyo Valley, offering another chance to enjoy the stunning scenery. The descent is much easier, allowing you to fully appreciate the beauty of the turquoise Gokyo Lakes and the surrounding snow-capped peaks. As the trail winds past yak pastures and small settlements, you get to enjoy the alpine environment. Upon reaching Machhermo, you can reflect on your adventure so far while preparing for the continued descent. You stay overnight in Machhermo.
The trek from Machhermo to Khumjung (3790m) offers a beautiful descent through the serene landscapes of the Everest region. The trail begins with a gradual downhill walk through alpine meadows and dense forests, offering stunning views of peaks like Thamserku, Ama Dablam, and the surrounding valleys. As you descend towards Dole, you cross several streams. The trail then leads to Mong La, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. The descent continues into the lush valleys below, and after passing through small settlements like Phortse, you finally reach Khumjung. It is a charming Sherpa Village known for its rich history and proximity to the famous Hillary School. You stay overnight in Khumjung.
The trek from Khumjung to Monjo (2835m) involves a gradual descent through the beautiful Sherpa landscapes. The trail begins with a descent from Khumjung, passing through scenic valleys, forests, and small villages. As you descend towards the Dudh Koshi River, the trail takes you through the village of Jorsalle, marking the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park. The trail follows the river, crossing several suspension bridges and passing through lush forests, with occasional views of Himalayan peaks before reaching Monjo. As you arrive in Monjo, you can relax in the peaceful village and stay overnight.
The trek from Monjo to Lukla marks the final stretch of the Everest region trek. The path is relatively easy, with a gentle descent through dense forests, small villages, and crossing suspension bridges. As you approach Lukla, the trail becomes relatively familiar, and you pass through the vibrant villages of Jorsalle and Chheplung before finally reaching Lukla. The arrival in Lukla marks the end of the trek, where you can rest and reflect on the incredible adventure through the Everest region. You stay overnight in Lukla.
Today, you board a morning flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu. The flight offers majestic aerial views of the mountains, and the valley below, marking the dramatic end to the adventure. The flight is often thrilling due to the short, steep runway in Lukla, but provides a unique perspective of the Himalayan landscape. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you are greeted by the bustling atmosphere of the capital city. You can check in at your hotel and take your time to relax and enjoy the comforts of the city.
Note: Flights to Kathmandu are usually scheduled for the morning because of strong wind in the afternoon. Sometimes the flight time can be delayed due to bad weather conditions.
After the physically demanding trek, you can finally have a well-deserved rest day in Kathmandu. This allows you to recover and unwind, as well as explore the cultural and historical wonders of the city. You can visit the UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, and Swayambhunath. If you are interested in shopping, the bustling Thamel area offers vibrant markets with souvenirs, trekking gear, and local handicrafts. The day concludes with a farewell dinner at a local Nepali restaurant and travel arrangements to your destination.
On the final day of your journey, Manaslu Adventure Treks will organize a special Trip Conclude Ceremony. During this heartfelt event, the team will express gratitude for your participation and acknowledge the memorable experiences shared throughout the adventure. The clients are also free to provide feedback, which is valuable for the team to understand your experience and gather insights to improve future trips. As a token of appreciation, a souvenir will be presented to you, symbolizing the lasting memories of your adventure and deep connection to Nepal’s culture and natural beauty.
The day concludes with a final goodbye and transfer arrangements to your onward destination, whether to the airport or your next journey within Nepal. The team will ensure your departure is smooth and filled with warm wishes for future travels.
For trip confirmation, please make a down payment minimum of USD 200.00 or 20% of the total cost. In some cases, the trip cost could be high depending upon the domestic flight or trekking & expedition. In such cases, we will inform you accordingly. Please note that the deposit amount is non-refundable in the case of cancellation. However, the trip could be rescheduled again. The remaining dues must be paid 15 days before departure by bank transfer or on arrival in Kathmandu.
No refund will be made for the initial booking confirmation amount provided under any circumstances of cancellation. However, we offer to reschedule your trip for any other date of next season or within a year. Manaslu Adventure Treks will refund you if you have paid a further amount of the trip cost. If the cancellation is made before 30 days of the trip start date, then, a full refund will be made except the booking confirmation amount. Likewise, a 50% refund will be made on cancellation before 15 days of the trip start date and a 25% refund on the cancellation before 10 days. Furthermore, cancellations made within a week will be considered as no show & no refund will be made.
