Upon your arrival, a representative from Manaslu Adventure Treks will warmly welcome you at the airport with a flower garland and ensure a smooth transfer to your designated hotel in the city. Once you check in and settle, the representative will provide a detailed program briefing, including an overview of your upcoming trip. Also, any necessary documentation will be reviewed and finalized to ensure everything is in order.

If time permits, you can explore the local area on a short walk. This will allow you to acclimatize to the environment and enjoy the surroundings. The day concludes with a special welcome dinner hosted at a local restaurant, where you can enjoy authentic Nepalese cuisine and get acquainted with fellow travelers and the Manaslu Adventure Treks team.

Today, you will embark on an exhilarating journey, beginning with an early morning scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2840m). The 30–35-minute flight offers breathtaking aerial views of the Himalayan peaks, terraced landscapes, and deep valleys, making it one of the most thrilling flights in the world. Upon landing at Lukla, a vibrant trekking hub, you will meet your trekking crew and make final preparations before starting the trek. Following a gentle downhill trail, the trek from Lukla to Phakding (2610m) is relatively easy. Enjoy the cool mountain air, you will pass through picturesque Sherpa villages, lush forests, and suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River. Along the way, you will encounter chortens, prayer flags, and mani walls, reflecting the rich Buddhist culture of the Khumbu region. After a leisurely hike, you will reach the charming village of Phakding, nestled along the riverbank, where you stay overnight.

Today, you will begin your trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m). The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges, including the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge, adorned with fluttering prayer flags. As you trek through dense pine and rhododendron forests, you will pass through small Sherpa villages like Monjo and Jorsalle, where you will officially enter Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, your permits will be checked before continuing the trek. The path gradually ascends, with stunning views of snow-capped peaks, terraced

fields, and roaring glacial rivers. After crossing Jorsalle, the real challenge begins as you face a steep uphill climb of about two hours leading to Namche Bazaar, the largest and most vibrant town in the Khumbu region. As you ascend, you may get your first glimpse of Mount Everest along with Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam, making the effort worthwhile. You stay overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Today, you will spend the day in Namche Bazaar for acclimatization, which is crucial for adjusting to the increasing altitude. Instead of taking a complete rest, you will go on a short acclimatization hike to either Khumjung (3780m) or Thamo (3493m) and Thame (3800m). These hikes help your body adapt to lower oxygen levels while offering spectacular views and a deeper insight into the Sherpa culture and traditions.

If you choose to hike to Khumjung, the trail takes you past the Everest View Hotel, one of the highest-altitude hotels in the world, where you can enjoy stunning panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. You reach Khumjung village, known as the “Green Valley” due to its picturesque green-roofed houses. Here, you can visit the Khumjung Monastery, which houses a purported Yeti scalp, and explore the Hillary School, established by Sir Edmund Hillary to support local Sherpa education.

Alternatively, if you trek towards Thamo and Thame, the route follows a quieter trail with fewer trekkers, offering a more peaceful experience. Thame is a traditional Sherpa village known for its ancient Thame Monastery, one of the oldest in the Khumbu region. It is also the hometown of legendary mountaineers, including Tenzing Norgay Sherpa. The trail to Thame offers a chance to see blue sheep, Himalayan tahrs, and even rare snow leopards if you are lucky.

Today, you will leave Namche Bazaar and embark on a scenic trek towards Tengboche (3860m). This journey takes you through breathtaking landscapes in the Khumbu region, with stunning views of Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Thamserku along the way. The trek starts with a relatively gradual ascent, following a winding trail along the ridge of Namche, offering panoramic views of the Himalayas. The trail then descends towards the Dudh Koshi River, passing through small Sherpa villages like Kyangjuma and Sanasa. As you walk, you will see rhododendron forests, grazing yaks, and vibrant prayer flags, adding to the beauty of the journey. You may encounter Himalayan tahr (mountain goats) and colorful Danphe (Himalayan monal), Nepal’s national bird. After crossing the Phunki Tenga River via a suspension bridge, the trail becomes steeper, as you ascend towards Tengboche. This section is a challenging uphill climb of about two hours through dense rhododendrons and pine forests, but the effort is rewarded once you reach the top. Upon arrival at Tengboche, you will be welcomed by the magnificent Tengboche Monastery, the largest and most significant Buddhist monastery in the Everest region. You stay overnight in Tengboche.

Today, you will leave the serene village of Tengboche and trek towards Dingboche (4410m). The journey begins with a gradual descent through a beautiful rhododendron and pine forest until you reach Deboche, a small, peaceful village. The trail continues along the Imja Khola River, crossing a sturdy suspension bridge and passing by chortens (Buddhist shrines) and prayer wheels, reflecting the deep spirituality of the region. Then, you will make a short climb to

Pangboche, the highest permanent Sherpa settlement in the Khumbu region. After Pangboche, the trail gradually ascends as you trek through alpine terrain, leaving behind the dense forests. The air becomes thinner, with dramatic, barren landscapes of the high Himalayas, fewer trees, and more rocky pastures and yak grazing lands. You will be treated to spectacular close-up views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Island Peak, with glimpses of Everest in the distance. As you approach Dingboche, the Imja Valley opens up, revealing vast, flat fields enclosed by stone walls—built by locals to protect crops from cold winds and animals. Dingboche is a beautiful high-altitude Sherpa village, known as the “Summer Valley” of the Khumbu region, where you stay overnight.

Today, you will spend the day acclimatizing in Dingboche to help your body adjust to the increasing altitude. Instead of complete rest, you will embark on an acclimatization hike to Chhukung (4730m), a small settlement nestled at the foot of Island Peak. This 4.5-hour round-trip hike helps prepare you for the higher elevations in the coming days.

The trek starts with a gradual ascent through the Imja Valley, following a well-defined trail with spectacular views of Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Island Peak, and Makalu in the distance. The terrain becomes more rugged as you gain altitude, transitioning into rocky paths and glacial moraines. Along the way, you will see mani stones (prayer-inscribed rocks), yak grazing pastures and small chortens. As you reach Chhukung, you will be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the Lhotse and Nuptse ridges, as well as the glacial valleys surrounding Island Peak. After spending some time soaking in the high-altitude beauty and capturing stunning photographs, you will descend back to Dingboche, following the same route. The remaining part of the day can be spent exploring Dingboche’s stone-walled fields, interacting with local Sherpas, or simply enjoying the magnificent sunset over the Himalayas.

Today, you will leave Dingboche and trek towards Lobuche (4910m) gradually entering the rugged, high-altitude terrain of the Khumbu Glacier region. The trek begins with a gentle climb along the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier, where the landscape becomes increasingly barren, with fewer signs of vegetation. The trail offers panoramic views of peaks like Cholatse, Pumori, Lingtren, and Nuptse, with Everest remaining hidden behind the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge. After about two hours of trekking, you will reach Thukla (Dughla), a small settlement where trekkers often take a short break. Here, you will have the chance to refuel with hot tea and snacks before ascending the steep and rocky Thukla Pass (4830m). This climb is physically demanding due to the high altitude. At the top of the pass, you will come across the Everest Memorial, a series of stone cairns and prayer flags dedicated to climbers who have lost their lives on Everest. The trail gradually levels out as you approach Lobuche, a small, windswept settlement nestled among towering peaks. With the Khumbu Glacier to one side and the dramatic Lobuche Peak (6119m) towering overhead, the village offers an incredible yet harsh high-altitude atmosphere. You stay overnight at Lobuche.

Today, you will embark on one of the most thrilling and challenging sections of the journey—reaching Everest Base Camp (5380). The day begins with an early morning trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep (5,140m), which takes approximately 2.5 hours. The trail initially follows the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier, with a steady yet gradual ascent through rocky and rugged terrain. The path is rough and undulating, requiring careful footing as you walk beside the glacial ice formations and exposed rock slabs. As you move closer to Gorakshep, you will notice the terrain becoming

more barren landscape, with stunning views of Everest, Nuptse, and Pumori dominating the horizon. You will take a short refreshment break at Gorakshep before continuing towards Everest Base Camp. The hike to Everest Base Camp takes about 3 hours round trip and is a strenuous, yet rewarding adventure. The path is filled with loose rocks, moraines, and ice formations, as you walk alongside the massive Khumbu Glacier, the gateway to Everest’s summit. As you arrive at Everest Base Camp, you will stand at the foot of the world’s highest peak, surrounded by the awe-inspiring Khumbu Icefall, colorful prayer flags, and expedition tents during the climbing seasons (spring and autumn). Here, you can take memorable photographs, absorb the breathtaking scenery, and feel the incredible energy of the climbers preparing for their summit attempts. Finally, you will retrace your steps back to Gorakshep, where you will spend overnight.

Today, you will begin with an early morning hike to the famed Kalapattar (5550m), which offers one of the most breathtaking panoramic views of Mount Everest and the surrounding peaks. The hike is a strenuous 3-hour ascent from Gorakshep, navigating rocky terrain with altitude challenges, but the effort is well worth it for the mesmerizing sunrise over the Himalayas. After soaking in the majestic scenery, you will descend back to Gorakshep, where you will enjoy a well-earned break and some food. Later, the trek continues with a 6-hour journey to Pheriche (4240 m), a relatively more peaceful and less strenuous stretch. The trail leads you through a variety of landscapes, passing through rugged alpine terrain, picturesque valleys, and small villages. As you descend, the air becomes thicker, which offers some relief from the high-altitude challenges of the earlier part of the trek. Finally, you reach Pheriche, where you stay overnight.

Today, the trek begins with a relatively easier 5-hour journey from Pheriche to Phungi Thanga (3250m), a peaceful and scenic village nestled along the way. The trail offers a gentle descent through lush valleys, with rich vegetation and views of the towering peaks surrounding you. As you walk, you will pass through a variety of landscapes, including alpine meadows, dense forests, and small villages. The path is well-maintained and less physically demanding, giving you a chance to recover from the past few days of strenuous trekking. Along the way, you will enjoy stunning views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and other majestic peaks, while the air becomes more comfortable as you descend to a lower altitude. Upon arriving in Phungi Thanga, you will find a warm and welcoming lodge where you can relax and stay overnight.

Today, the trek begins in Phungi Thanga, where you start with an ascent towards Phortse. The initial stretch takes you on a steady climb through picturesque rhododendron forests and alpine meadows. As you hike, you will be rewarded with beautiful views of towering peaks like Ama Dablam and Thamserku, creating a stunning backdrop. The path from Phungi Thanga to Phortse is about 2 to 3 hours long, offering a gradual ascent to Phortse (3810m), a charming village perched on the hillside. After reaching Phortse, you will take a break before continuing your trek. Now, the trail descends gently, leading you through lush forests and small villages as you make your way towards Manjo (2805m). This section is more relaxed, with the altitude gradually lowering as you head towards the river valley. The 2 to 3-hour

descent to Manjo offers scenic views of the Dudh Koshi River and surrounding landscapes, making for a peaceful and enjoyable walk. Upon arriving in Manjo, you will be rewarded with beautiful views and a serene atmosphere to wind down, where you stay overnight.

This is the trek’s final leg, taking you from Manjo to Lukla (2840m), a journey of about 5 hours. The day starts with a relatively easy and scenic trek, gently descending through lush forests and along the banks of the Dudh Koshi River. As you move towards Lukla, you will pass through small Sherpa villages, cross a few bridges, and witness stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The trail is well-trodden and mostly downhill, making it a pleasant and relaxing walk after the previous days of strenuous trekking. As you approach Lukla, the air becomes warmer and the scenery more familiar, marking your return to the gateway of the Everest region. Lukla is a bustling town that serves as the starting and ending point for most Everest treks, so you will likely see other trekkers and locals in the area. Upon arrival, you will settle into your lodge for the night, where you can reflect on the incredible journey you’ve completed through the Khumbu region.

Today, you will bid farewell to the mountains as you take a scenic flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu, marking the end of your trek. Depending on the weather conditions, you may have to wait sometimes at the airport. The flight, lasting about 30 minutes, offers one last opportunity to enjoy spectacular aerial views of the Himalayas as you soar over the lush valleys and jagged peaks you’ve just walked through. Upon landing in Kathmandu, you’ll be transferred to your hotel, where you can relax and reflect on the incredible adventure you have just completed.

After the physically demanding trek, you can finally have a well-deserved rest day in Kathmandu. This allows you to recover and unwind, as well as explore the cultural and historical wonders of the city. You can visit the UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, and Soyambhunath (guided tour upon request). If you are interested in shopping, the bustling Thamel area offers vibrant markets with souvenirs, trekking gear, and local handicrafts. You can also have a free and easy day for individual activities. The day concludes with a farewell dinner at a local Nepali restaurant and travel arrangements to your destination.

On the final day, Manaslu Adventure Treks will organize a special Trip Conclude Ceremony. During this heartfelt event, the team will express gratitude for your participation and acknowledge the memorable experiences shared throughout the adventure. The clients are also free to provide feedback, which is valuable for the team to understand your experience and gather insights to improve future trips.
