Today, you take a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche, which serves as the administrative headquarters for the Rasuwa district and a key stop for trekkers heading to Langtang region. Along the way, you pass through picturesque landscapes, dense forests, and small settlements. From Dhunche, the trek continues to Syabrubesi, a short but beautiful walk about 2 – 3 hours. The trail descends through lush forests, crossing small streams and providing glimpses of the snow-capped peaks of Langtang range. Finally, you reach Syabrubesi, a small charming village, which marks the starting point for several Langtang treks. You stay overnight in Syabrubesi.
Today, you trek from Syabrubesi to the Lama Hotel (2470m), where you head deeper into the Langtang valley through the Langtang River. The trail gradually ascends through lush forests of oak, bamboo, and rhododendron. Along the way, you may encounter wildlife such as monkeys and colourful birds. As you gain altitude, the landscape shifts to more rugged terrain, with the towering peaks of the Langtang range becoming more visible. The path crosses several suspension bridges and small villages like Bamboo, before reaching the Lama Hotel, a popular resting spot. It provides a comfortable place to rest and acclimatize, surrounded by the serene beauty of mountains, where you stay overnight.
Today, you trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Valley, which is a rewarding ascent that takes around 6 hrs, with the trail gradually gaining altitude and offering increasingly majestic views of the surrounding peaks. From lama Hotel, the path continues through dense forests of bamboo and oak, gradually opening up to more alpine meadows as you approach higher elevations. The river flows alongside and you will begin to notice the influence of Tibetan culture in the villages, with prayer flags fluttering and traditional chortens making the way. The landscape becomes more dramatic as you approach Langtang Valley, with towering mountains like Langtang Lirung (7227m) and other impressive peaks providing a breathtaking backdrop. You stay overnight in Langtang Valley.
Today, you trek from Langtang to Kyanjing Gompa (3870m), a short but scenic journey which takes about 4 hours. As you leave the valley, the trail gradually climbs through open alpine meadows and rocky terrain, offering panoramic views of the Langtang Lirung and other surrounding peaks. Along the way, you pass through yak pastures and traditional stone huts. As you approach Kyanjin Gompa, the landscape opens up even further, revealing the beautiful high-altitude village with its Tibetan-style monasteries and stupas. Kyanjin Gompa serves as a spiritual and cultural centre for trekkers and locals alike. The monastery here is a peaceful place to visit, and the surrounding views of the Langtang range are simply awe-inspiring. In the afternoon, visit the Cheese factory of Kyanjing Gompa, which offers only Yak Cheese, and then stay overnight.
After breakfast, you can climb to Tserko Ri for a better view of the surrounding mountains. It takes about 4 hours uphill and about 2.30 hours downhill. After lunch, you climb up to Kyanjin Ri to get a close view of Langtang Lirung glacier. This offers stunning views of Kyanjing Gompa as well. It depends on your fitness level and hiking enthusiasm.
Today, you trek back to Lama Hotel from Kyanjin Gompa, which is a descent of about 7 hrs. After soaking in the stunning views of the Langtang Valley, the journey back begins with a gradual descent through the alpine meadows and forests. The trail winds down through picturesque landscapes, crossing several small streams and passing through villages like Kyanjin Kharka. As you lose elevation, the environment shifts from high-altitude terrain to dense forests of rhododendron, oak and bamboo, providing a lush and green atmosphere. The path follows the Langtang River, offering serene views and a peaceful walk. Eventually, you reach Lama Hotel, where you stay overnight.
After breakfast, you will trek back to Syabrubesi from the Lama Hotel. Finally, a private vehicle takes you back to Kathmandu. This day transitions from trekking to a smooth ride back as you approach the end of your journey. Arriving in Kathmandu may feel like a cultural shift after spending days in the mountains. The remaining part of the day is free in Kathmandu, which allows you to relax, explore the city, or do some last-minute shopping. The day concludes with a farewell dinner at a local Nepali restaurant and travel arrangements to your destination.
